Irina Yarotskaya biography
With her pupils, Irina Alexandrovna took part in various competitions and festivals in Kazakhstan, in Russia and in far countries. The studio in the studio has many diplomas and awards of various degrees for participating in contests of creative works, festivals of children's creativity of urban, republican, and international levels. The correspondent of the Musical Klondaika met Irina Yarotskaya and talked with her about how to motivate young children to study, about professional secrets and about the problems of voice mutation.
Irina Yarotskaya - Irina Alexandrovna, you have vast experience with children. Tell us, have you developed any rules or professional secrets over the years of practice? In the first place is always the attitude to children and their parents, and only then the learning process itself. One of the factors of the “launch” of the contest “Domisolka” was the annual reporting concert of our students, which takes place at the end of the school year.
The reporting concert in itself should be bright and capacious, but if you include all solo performers in its program, then it will stretch for many hours. But again, we must remember the parents who want to see their child on the stage. And there was an idea to create a competition in which parents will be able to come, listen and support their child, and at the same time, students will be able to get an assessment of their performances.
How is such an internal competition useful? For example, we do not have such moments that students will look at each other a “wolf”. On the contrary, they worry about each other.
The competition is useful for children, both for education, and for learning. After the contest show, the next day we are all together at a kind of round table and analyze every performance. This is very important, because it is precisely such artificially created situations that help them learn to analyze their work or other student. Sometimes I personally present at children's competitions and festivals, at which you can often notice the same picture: parents, whose children did not perform poorly, reported them to other contestants.
How do you prepare parents for the competition in which their children participate and do you explain that it is certainly not worth it to scold them, especially with strangers. It must be remembered that the competition for the child is always accompanied by excitement, and it manifests itself in different ways. The child is important to support parents, no matter how he performs.
Moreover, he is still studying, and all victories are waiting for him ahead. How can you interest such a small child and motivate him to teach? As a rule, in the first lesson, I do not check them for the ability to music, because they see me for the first time and get acquainted with the instrument for the first time. If I start asking them some questions, then they will simply get involved.
Therefore, for two weeks it takes us to get to know the subject, after which the children begin to sang and liberate. In fact, everything is simple - the earlier the child began to make music, the earlier he will develop in a musically. We have a wonderful teacher Kaparulina Elena Vladimirovna, who brilliantly liberates the children, frees them from stiffness on the stage and helps us create a song setting.
Acting skill is an important factor for the singer. How does this affect your classes? The transition is smooth and not so noticeable. Again, there are cases when, after a mutation of a voice, a teenager stops singing, but I would attribute this to the exceptions. Perestroika takes place individually with students. But the boys engaged in vocals acquire a softer voice. After all, it is very important for singers, especially beginners, to monitor the health of their ligaments.
Also, I recommend on the street, especially in winter, not to scream or sing, but to talk calmly especially after class. Again, cold air can enter the heated and soldered ligaments, and the child can simply get sick. And, of course, after classes you can not drink cold drinks and there is ice cream. How do you find new compositions? Of course, I do not mean the songs that we hear from the TV screen.
Thanks to social networks and thematic forums, teachers from different cities and countries exchange minuses of compositions and a repertoire of their groups. It is very convenient. Yes, often administrators of such sites are asked to make a monthly contribution, but it is purely symbolic. Maria Kutsenko - your team often performs abroad at international competitions. For the first time we went abroad as part of the “Running Waves” contest in the year.
Then we performed in Egypt, Turkey and took part in the Moscow competition, while we always took the title of laureates. At that time, the dollar cost less, so the participation of abroad was available to many. Now we are also going to other countries, but less often - two or three times a year. For ten years of participation in international competitions, we have developed a wonderful relationship with the president of the festival-competition of Fiestalonia Milenio, David Japaridze. We take part in many events organized by David and managed to visit Spain, Italy and France.
Polina Suvorova - How does a performance abroad affect your students? The very attitude to their execution becomes different, more professional. It is more interesting for children to speak in the competition - where you can get an assessment - and not at the festival. There will be nothing without it. Always monitor their attitude to children and not to allocate anyone in group classes, even if the child is super-talented.
And of course, all this is work, so we’re more to deal with children.
