Stanislav Belza Biography

He was called an aristocrat of a Russian television screen, a knight of a musical image, but he himself said to himself: “My workplace is a culture! People's Artist of Russia, laureate of the State Prize in the field of literature and art, Honored Artist, President of the Russian Academy of Arts ... It is difficult to count the number of projects that were created on Russian television thanks to Svyatoslav Belze.

On the Culture television channel, where he worked from the day of its founding, he conducted the author’s programs - “In your house”, “Masterpieces of the World Musical Theater”, “Romance Romance”, “Game of Classics”, and was also the host of the international competition of young musicians “The Nutcracker”. Svyatoslav Belza was one of those happy people whose profession became the main hobby of life.

All the merits and honorary titles of Svyatoslav Belza can be listed endlessly. He was a man who personified the style and depth of Russian culture. The excellent taste in it was brought up by parents. Father is a famous musicologist, critic and composer Igor Bels. In childhood, Svyatoslav, having received the championship title in fencing, wanted to become at least - an athlete, as a maximum - a musketeer.

But then he entered the philological faculty. At the summer, he made his debut as a TV presenter. And the musketeering qualities: nobility, justice, honesty carried through his whole life. Belza made the Academic Art of Bales affordable to millions of spectators.

One of his last projects was the Big Ballet, which was on the Channel Culture. Outside of the air, Belsa worked in a tense graph with constant trips, often led two to three concerts a day. His name at the poster was a guarantor of success. Violinist Maxim Fedotov recalls that improvisation has always been the main “chip” of the presenter. Svyatoslav Igorevich led this concert, and we were late for the train from there.

And he announces. In any situation, Belza was flawless. It seemed that he was even sleeping in a tuxedo. His collection totaled more butterflies, which at first in E simply could not be reached. When he led “music on the air”, his mother sewed him - from ties. Belza has always been incredible elegance. And he had the highest subtlety of humor. You see, even when Belza was told by a joke, he did it as if Placido Domingo represented before the concert, ”says Pianist, People's Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev.

He passed away three years ago. Despite a serious illness, he did not cancel either broadcasts or concerts. He dreamed of writing memoirs. But I did not have time.
