TYR met with Boris in our city, where the musician came to speak with his Octopus Maiden group. We talked with him about creativity, musical teaching, diversity in music and a persecuting image of one of the Brothers Grim. A few years ago, we were going to rehearse with the guys, just play using various guitar effects. At first there were three of us, then a bassist added to us, but we did all our music as part of improvisation.

There were no separate thoughtful songs. We just gathered, hung at the base. Then the first material appeared, and a concert program came out of it and, in fact, a group. I have known many guys from the group for a long time, for example, with Vova, our bassist, we played in Samara. Then, when we moved to Moscow, Vasily and Andrei joined us. I do not know how to evaluate and indicate a creative contribution to the interest of everyone laughs. Well, we, as a rule, have some creative developments and texts, as a rule. All this we turn out at rehearsals, and then I come home and finish the material to a full -fledged song. True, we devote a large amount of time to improvisation, so sometimes we just do not want to play the program, we take the instruments in our hands and play as it goes.

The fact is that I like to write music in different genres. Nowadays, the musician has a huge opportunity to realize himself in different projects and directions. If earlier you strove for one thing and was obliged to follow this over the years, now the musicians can try themselves in various genres and, thereby, represent a certain walking label.

Today, in general, everything does not happen as it was, for example, in the year, when the discs were sold and there was some kind of mainstream. Now the concept of a song as a hit is shifted in some other direction, each musician has his own universal hit. When you release a song in our time, you understand that it can be released in several versions.

Well, yes. At first, this happened with visual art, for example, with a photograph, when every second became a photographer, and today every second became a musician. But someone, of course, turns out worse, but someone is better. I’ll say that each of us, in some ways, is a multi-station, each has a lot of musical experience behind him: someone has mainstream, someone does not.

For example, for some time I was fond of pop music, pop rock and still I have projects in these genres. Because, in principle, the wider you end up, the more you are no longer dependent on anyone. Well, firstly, he should not smile at anyone. You must make music the way you can. And if earlier there were some musical charts and similar things, now no one has the right to control you.

You always develop yourself. Today, such freedom gives a large palette of various styles, genres and directions. Actually, the psychedelic rock that we play in the format of the Octopus Maiden group reflects to some extent our soul. We like such psychedelic reality. Doesn't this annoy you? Yes, this is generally tin, in fact. Many are used to the fact that I am a two -headed boy.

Singing two heads laughs. It is very difficult to get rid of this stereotype. At first I was very soared about this. Back in Samara, I started with completely different things to the Brothers Grimm: we played a grunge, a post-grange. After participating in the Brothers Grim, it was difficult to return to the usual state, play rock music again and get away from associations with this already a textbook character.

Sometimes people come up to me and ask: “Please tell me, is it you? I answer them: “Well, probably this is me. Or maybe not quite ”laughs. Of course, sometimes people have to play along with the point of view of this image. But every day to do it is more difficult and more complicated. I released several records, adding my songs there.

We like it more because there is a living audience. After all, only you come to listen than when you play at a funeral or dancing. Although sometimes, we also have to play at a funeral or dancing, because it brings income.

We do not hide it. Sometimes it happens that musicians do something else in parallel. I have never done anything else except music. Although I remember, there was a moment when I worked as a music teacher. I gave lectures at various Russian centers in Europe on the topic of musical teaching. Something pulled me to become a solid dude in a jacket. I wanted to plunge into this atmosphere.

But in principle, it was fragmented. Now all my activities are connected only with music. I came to these Russian centers that are in every European country. Directors of kindergartens, schools came to me at a lecture - these are women who for 30, over 40 and even for me talked with them about music, and then sang songs. These were both Beatles, as well as something nostalgic, because abroad they missed the “maple that is noisy” laughs.

Sometimes they even cried when such things began to sing. Very strange, but my audience is those boys, girls who listened to me back in the year. These are precisely those children who actively listened to the "brothers make -up". Then they all grew up, began to understand music well and again came to my concerts. Somehow it turned out that I, a dense scoop, grew up again in the eyes of the new audience.

Yes, it is planned to release the album literally in a month and a half. Now we are at the stage of mastering, it will be a release that we are waiting for. But the recording of the album, of course, is always difficult - this is a long process of searching for the sound, where only behind this sound we did not go, the truth was smiling, we decided to make mastering with his own hands.

Still, I always want to make music yourself. Blitz -Supply with Boris Burdaev - is your favorite pastime? Talk about nothing, but laughs about everything. But in fact, I really like not only to write poetry, but also to sit at the computer in search of the sound. I would like to say the one who shares my ass into two halves laughs. Recently, even some disgusting things can be perceived as a kind of postpord.
