Biography Mikhail Rubin
After emigration to Germany, Mikhail Rubin built a successful life: he is one of the co-owners of the consulting company, was a municipal deputy Frankfurt from the liberal-democratic party of Germany-in other words, he took place in Germany. Vitebchanin Mikhail Rubin left for Germany in the year. In the same year, Alexander Lukashenko came to power. But Rubin actively collaborated with representatives of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry and government agencies, was a member of the Belarusian-German Council of Entrepreneurs.
Everything has changed after the presidential election. Mikhail Rubin told SN plus about emigration, the events of Go and the sharp somersault in his life, which followed the Belarusian revolution. Why did you make such a decision? So the circumstances. I moved to Germany with a young summer man in M - since that long time I have been living and working in Germany for 28 years.
How much time and effort did the career ladder take? Even in Vitebsk there were the first experiments of entrepreneurial activity: at 18, he became a co -owner of a cooperative, then - LLC. By nature, I am more an entrepreneur than an employee. On the contrary, for me a turn in a classic career occurred when he worked for three years in one of the big consulting in Frankfurt.
And for more than 20 years I have been one of the co -founders of the consulting company in which I have been working now. But I would not call it a career - there is rather a way of life. As for my political activity, for a year now I have not been a municipal deputy in Frankfurt - I switched my time, energy, efforts to the Belarusian agenda. And with the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the situation has become more complicated.
But the political life for me is also not promotion and a career, but a lifestyle that does not give the right to stay away from current events - both local and global. I came to big policy through the municipal. But again, this is more likely to live a lifestyle: you live here, here is your habitat, so there is a natural desire to influence your life. And then, when you plunge into the political environment, you get acquainted with the leading politicians of Germany and the personalities of the European level, then you go further.
Unfortunately, the events of the year, in the thick of which I ended up, broke out. And then the previous mechanism worked: with his practical experience and capabilities, he began to help with what I can home. The first 24 years of my life, childhood, teenager, initial youth, nevertheless passed in the Soviet socialist system, which, with all its essence, prevented people with a sense of freedom.
At first, she slowed me down, and in the dashing post-perestroika years I would not say that there was no growth: a student-first a technical school, and then the university-I participated quite actively in civil and business projects. But now, now you can’t return and never know how life would have developed, stayed in Belarus. Everyone could happen. Looking back, I’ll say that until recently, my commercial, or business interest, was in Belarus: there was a subsidiary in an IT sphere that closed after the events of the year, and the whole business was withdrawn from Belarus.
It was believed that participation in business processes and public contacts, including the Foreign Ministry and state structures, leads to the rapprochement of Belarus with the civilized world. But at the same time, I did not depart from my democratic and universal beliefs: with all the contacts with the Foreign Ministry, with all contacts with high -ranking Belarusian representatives, I always spoke about the abolition of the death penalty.
And even with the deceased head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I had a discussion on this score. At least, I had the opportunity to support topics so that they would not leave the agenda. Everything has changed in m, even before the election. When I am talking about them, for me the point of no return, or a turning point, was the initial landings: Babarico, later - Tikhanovsky.
These arrests became not just the first swallow, but showed a specific direction to which the regime took the course - the flywheel of repression began to gain momentum. The Belarusian regime crossed all the red lines and crossed out all hopes to influence the situation through socio-economic and moral channels-a course was taken to direct confrontation. For me, this was a turning point.
And then the elections themselves, the night after them, repressions, the surroundings ... - Why did the Belarusian authorities end the presidential campaign with a terrible tragedy?
In fact, terror began before the elections: landing of presidential candidates, undisguised forgery, and the reaction to people who went to the streets to protest on the night after the elections was a reaction of the beast driven into the corner. Probably, the regime already lost everything then, the force remained the last opportunity to maintain power. By any methods and for any time.
At first it seemed that it was for six months a year, but, unfortunately, the regime has been holding power for three years. And still he lost, but now he simply holds power by any methods. Today's Belarus is another, another world from which a lot of people are thrown out. They also actually pulled out from me, they took the former country.I also have many personal not even insults and claims, but personal accounts to the ruling regime that destroyed my world, which I considered my homeland.
There is no longer an economic structure, a professional structure in which not only I felt comfortable, but also thousands of other IT specialists. In Belarus, a unique environment was created for the development of the ITSFRA, so many opportunities for people and the country - everything has been destroyed. Not to mention the trampled human rights, the one -in -law of fate and destroyed lives.
This is a completely different country: it has not changed, it turned upside down, the known to me Belarus was replaced by an unknown substance. Fortunately or unfortunately, the first arrests, the first protests rallied us, Belarusians, and now there is a small but rather active diaspora. There was even the first diaspora forming in Frankfurt and neighboring territories, there is active friendship, cooperation.
Not only in Frankfurt, but also in Germany, consolidation occurred, the Diaspass structure has appeared - now with its office and employees. And in Frankfurt and in the general German diaspora, I am just an ordinary member, but I always help with what I can. Now there are very powerful corner sapses in the field: in Düsseldorf, in Hamburg is large, in Munich is very large, in Berlin - a huge ...
But the most important thing is that there are regional associations, even interregional. Over the past three years, the active support of not only the Belarusian opposition, but also the Belarusian agenda, I met a huge number of interesting people around the world and even acquired very close friends. If such terrible events had not happened, these acquaintances would not have occurred in my life.
Together with the misfortune, happiness fell to me ... The main principle of assistance to political prisoners - do not harm - by help what do you mean? Perhaps this is the only informal project that has not been registered anywhere, has no funding, and nevertheless has become a powerful structure: people's embassies are more than 20 countries. In many, we work very closely with governments, embassies, political parties and public organizations, we are perceived, we consult with us.
We are a bridge between the democratic forces and the countries in which we live. And of course, we take an active part in organizing events with the first -line democratic politicians: Tikhanovskaya, Latushko and others. Svetlana Tikhanovskaya created the Foundation "Country for Life", I became part of the Board of Trustees. My experience in business consulting is more in demand here.
The fund, created by Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, is aimed at assisting political prisoners. This is a priority task - the support of the political prisoners themselves through their families; Unfortunately, direct help is now more impossible. In the year, we had many volunteers who transferred the parcels, the programs, but they themselves were arrested in the framework of the so -called “Fund” case and received long terms of imprisonment.
And, of course, we try to work very subtly, sensitively, so as not to harm people, but we are doing everything possible so that the political prisoners are not forgotten. In general, this is a comprehensive big job associated not only with financial support. Do you have your own recipe? Is it possible? It is very actively discussed in it: how can you help, what can be changed, where that line passes, beyond which even one or two political prisoners, especially women, minors, patients, can justify certain concessions to the regime?
Unfortunately, today I have no answer to this question, although I am seriously engaged in it. On the one hand, the pressure of the sanctions should not be weakened categorically, and on the other hand, everything is possible to do everything possible to release political prisoners or at least achieve human conditions of their content. One does not follow from the other, the question is very complicated: each case needs to be approached individually.
The main principle: do not harm, therefore, first of all, you need to consult with close relatives or if it is possible with the political prisoners themselves before making a decision. You observe the development of events and live and work in Germany from the outside and the help of Belarusian emigration is provided from the inside. Following Shevchuk, I want to ask: what will happen to the homeland and with us?
Now I’m afraid to give forecasts ... Unfortunately, the solution to our problem is now not in Minsk, not in Moscow, and not even in Kyiv, but in the battlefields in Ukraine: the faster Ukraine will win, the closer we will become to solve our problem. The fate of the Belarusian regime is solved primarily on the battlefields in Ukraine. I will not give temporary forecasts, but in the future, Belarus has very good chances to quickly recover: to restore a new civil society, to re -build democratic structures, to revive the economy.
We are talking about obtaining investments from both the European Union and the Belarusians who have settled in democratic countries, have acquired good work, businesses I also hope to return to my business projects. The prospects are good. But how long the dark time will last - it's hard to say. It is even more difficult to plan the outcome of the so -called “elections”, most likely, they will simply have to survive as a natural disaster.
