Today it is very important not to forget the heroism of the Russian people during the Great Patriotic War, the memory of this is an important manual for descendants. And the memory of the great feat of the people, who defended his beloved homeland, does not dry out.

During the war years, Mordovia sent more to the homeland to protect the homeland. They committed a lot of heroic deeds in this war, but the price of victory was high. The Mordovian people made a significant contribution to the victory over fascism. Many of those called up in Mordovia to defend the Fatherland did not return from the battlefields. Perhaps there is no family of those times in which the father or son, brother, sister or other close relative did not die.

And still the collection and clarification of information about them continues. Honor, glory and eternal memory to those who died, protecting and freeing their homeland! Honor and glory to veterans who won the cost of huge personal deprivations and at the cost of the life of their friends and relatives. Including a memory embodied in the book "Immortal Regiment of Mordovia." This book was supposed to be written immediately after a glorious victory over the fascist hordes.

It was easier for fresh traces to ask, record the memories of veterans who lived in the republic, find yesterday's warriors who, for one reason or another, settled in different corners of the great homeland, but still kept contact with their native Mordovia. The tremendous roll call of the sons and daughters of the republic who returned from the front would be at least a small, but comfort for those who were crippled, who had the wounds whocked, who continued to dream of nightmares and there was very little to live.

There are no many glorious winners among us, the ranks of the participants in the Great Patriotic War have thinned very much. The farther time the years of grandiose battles moved, the more expensive and significant the victory of the Soviet people and its armed forces over the enemy become. Residents of the Republic of Mordovia, together with all Russians, as well as other peoples, sacredly honor the sacred memory of those who have fought and worked in the name of victory for more than four years in incredibly difficult conditions, who mined it without sparing health and life itself for the sake of a bright future.

However, time takes its own: gradually the traces of the former are erased, the memory fades, much of those harsh days scorched by fire and nights are available only to speculative perception. Therefore, it is so important to collect the names, exploits, the fate of all participants in the Great Patriotic War in the Unified book “Immortal Regiment of Mordovia”, which will include those who died and immortalized in the books “Memory”, and the sons and daughters of the Republic of Mordovia, who were destined to stay alive in the fire in the west and east.

And not just brief biographical information, but all that they committed, how they lived, how they fought, their exploits, fate, how they worked, what they believed and what they hoped for, their photographs. If, unfortunately, one of the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War broke out, there are no family and relatives left, then they will be remembered by all those who read the list published in this book.

These memories will not only help the next generations understand what their ancestors were, those who lived on their or on a neighboring street, in the next entrance, in a neighboring apartment, but also to draw the right conclusions about the history of the 20th century and people will always return to this period of history, the history of the Great Patriotic War, the creators of victory.
