Born on June 3 in the city of Kostroma in the family of an officer. He graduated from the Poltava Higher Military Command School of Communications in the year. The whole group was considered the deceased, but two days later a sudden attack broke through to their own.
At the same time, thanks to the skillful actions of Captain Polkovnikov, not a single fighter from its composition died, one sailor received severe injuries, several people escaped with light wounds and contusion. By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation “closed” dated May 3, for courage and heroism shown during the performance of a special task, the guard, the senior lieutenant, Poloniknikov Dmitry Alexandrovich, was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation with the award of a special distinction - the Golden Star medal.
